Attendance and Late/Absence Procedures
School Office: 01427 615498
We encourage our pupils to have excellent attendance and punctuality as we believe that children make the most progress when this is the case.
If your child is going to be absent from school due to illness, please inform the school office as soon as possible. If we do not hear from you we will contact you for the reason of the absence. Absences should be reported each day the child is absent.
If your child is absent due to sickness or diarrhoea, they will need to be clear of all symptoms for 48 hours before returning to school.
In the case of medical appointments please let either the school office or the class teacher know, as soon as possible, so that this can be authorised.

As a school, we aim to strive for an attendance rate of a minimum of 96%, in line with Government targets. Our learners have multiple and complex needs, many with medical-related difficulties; at different times of their lives, they require a personalised attendance timetable. Our prime concern is to ensure our registered pupils are safe and well. We aim to maintain parents'/carers' and pupils' awareness of the importance of attending school every day and we maximise attendance at a personalised level for each pupil.
