Attachment and Trauma Sensitive Schools Award
On 14th February 2019 Warren Wood - A Specialist Academy was awarded the Attachment and Trauma Sensitive Schools Award - both Bronze and Silver - by Dr Jennifer Nock. This Award is an external recognition of our commitment to the steps we have taken at Warren Wood Specialist Academy to develop a culture of compassion and nurture. This plays a pivotal role in getting children into a state of 'learning readiness' and gives them the best opportunities for success. Jennifer described Warren Wood as “ trauma- responsive, with systems practices, values and principles that are infused with sensitivity to trauma; thus, therapy is not something that the school simply provides, rather the environment itself and the relationships therein are therapeutic. Trauma sensitivity are embedded across the setting.”
