Safeguarding

Culture at Warren Wood

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.  At Warren Wood we are proactive rather than reactive.  We look after the safety of all the children and ensure that the places and spaces around the school are safe.

  • Meet and greet
  • Transport
  • Health and Safety walks (including governor walks)
  • Classroom and outdoor spaces Risk Assessments
  • Risk Assessments for Educational Visits
  • Cultural Capital Experiences to promote positive MHWB

Safeguarding is embedded by regular updates and training.  Since January 2024, we have introduced regular training as part of our briefing sessions.  These can include:

  • Staff to watch relevant materials
  • Courses on creative education
  • General updates
  • Key reminders written on briefing notes which are shared regularly
  • Safeguarding board in shared staff area.

Warren Wood Cares

The support for our families extends beyond Early help and TAC – we have some families that need a regular planned meeting with members of staff that they trust to discuss any worries they have and be signposted in the right direction.  We also have drop-in sessions for these families where they can come and get to know other carers led by our leadership team.
